The Nortel Automatic File Transfer protocol is a simple switch driven proprietary protocol.  Nortel AFT allows the switch to push whole files or stream real time data.   AFT/EIU (Ethernet Interface Unit) is the IP varient of AFT.  A version for X.25 networks is also available.  The AFT Collector, and the Stiletto© mediation system , support near real time processing, ensuring that downstream systems will have the most current data possible.
